The Platinum Mall – Metro Centre
Working alongside Architects Leach Rhodes Walker and Contractor Sir Robert McAlpine, Whitehead’s secured the highly specialised Corian Fabrication element of this early generation regional out of town shopping centre.
By combining state-of-the-art CAD software with our 5 axis CNC router and our specialised thermoforming equipment we were able to produce, easy to install, perfectly matched, curved panels which formed the column casings with no visible seams or mounting hardware.
Considered a “Eureka moment” the Architect for the first ever time actually used the reverse side of the Corian sheet to create a Carrera marble effect finish with fantastic results.
The works comprised:-
