Rotherham Golf Club

Thrybergh

Brief: It was both a pleasure and a privilege to able to work alongside the c ommittee in c reating grand, welc oming but yet still sympathetic interior for the members lounge of this beautiful historic golf club Our brief provided for simple and elegant decorations highlighting the intric ate mouldings and detailing but introduc ing decorative vinyl wall coverings for its durability and light reflecting qualities.

The style of the furniture selected was an eclectic mix of large leather sofas and tub c hairs alongside elegant high bac k fabric armchairs providing a range of seating to suit all requirements. The existing window seat was re-designed to provide a more comfortable seating area and lowered to allow an uninterrupted view onto the course and gardens. Lighting within the scheme was integral, re-establishing a large main feature pendant to its original c eiling rose and introduc ing several table and floor lamps to provide mood lighting.

The bar and back fitting were completely re-designed, but to maintain a degree of historic significance the decorative carvings from the original bar were carefully restored and reused in the new counter front, while the back fitting design allowed for more merchandising spac e and providing a more dramatic feature within the room.
